Songfacts®:

  • Superjoint Ritual is one of Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo's bands - in this case, a particularly aggressive one. In this song, he screams about alcohol addiction, something that affected not just him, but also his inner circle. In our interview with Anselmo, he said, "That came very naturally from writing about my entire crew of friends that I had for a long, long time."
  • A video was made for this song showing the suffering alcoholic in the song. The clip takes us inside his head, as he is visited by some kind of leprechaun-devil bearing booze. The video, along with one for "F--k Your Enemy," were included on the DVD release Superjoint Ritual: Live in Dallas, Texas, taken from a stop on the band's 2002 tour.
