The video was made after System bass player Shavo Odadjian had a dream about a boy offering a girl berries, not knowing the berries were poisonous. Odadjian directed it in collaboration with Howard Greenhalgh, who has also worked with Placebo, Soundgarden and Muse. The video is mostly about the carrying on of life.
SOAD drummer John Dolmayan has said that the band recorded this without knowing what time signature it's in. The song actually shifts through several odd meters, beginning in 5/4, and frequently switching between 9/8, 6/8, 5/4, and common time (4/4). >>>

This was the second of two singles released from the Mezmerize album, following "B.Y.O.B." The album went to #1 in America, and six months later they issued its companion, Hypnotize, which was recorded at the same time. That one also hit #1, giving SOAD the distinction of having two #1 albums in the same calendar year. After a tour, instead of heading back to the studio to keep their momentum going, they broke up, citing creative differences and a desire to pursue other projects. They got back together in 2010 for more touring, but didn't release another album that decade despite sporadic efforts.

Usually Satanist Rock bands kill their offerings during the show, so unless someone has seen them doing it, they likely don't.

They may not be religous people, but i know that dont "Sacrafice small animals before there shows". Before you go out and make acusations like this, you really need to have some kind of proof. Nick from Atlanta, GaI would not say that the song goes into 9/8. that would be 9 beats per measure. Why not just have 6/8 and then have an extra measure of 3/4? Same reason we don't have 16/16 time sig. We can break it down! But do correct me if you wish.

Now I really don't think anyone in SOAD wants to go to Heaven, listen to their song on the 1st album entitled "D-Devil." Also I do know another rock song in a 5/4 format. The Gorillaz "5/4" is entitled 5/4 simply because it's in a 5/4 format. Yes it is a rock song too, listen if you haven't.
