Songfacts®:

  • This dance track from Yorkshire based producer T2 features vocals from teenage singer Jodie Ashya. In November 2007 it became the first of a style of UK garage called "bassline" to enter the British Top 10 chart. Another name for this new garage hybrid is "Niche" after the club in Sheffield where the scene began.
  • In an interview with Jodie Ashya in RWD Magazine, the 18-year-old vocalist was asked about the inspiration behind the track: "I'm not sure. I thought of the melody and I had just songs in my head about being heartbroken and heartache and I just started writing the lyrics. I was sitting at home in my bedroom one day and it came from there really. It wasn't from personal experience or anything."
  • T2 takes his name from the movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which fascinated him when he was a kid.
  • The song's video features the English footballers Micah Richards and Anton Ferdinand.
  • A decade after the song's release, it was sampled by DJ Khaled on his Drake-featuring single "To the Max."
