Songfacts®:

  • Tainy is a Puerto Rican record producer and songwriter whose real name is Marcos Efraín Masís Fernández. He has worked with some of the biggest names in Latin music, including Bad Bunny, J Balvin and Wisin & Yandel. He won the Grammy Award for Best Música Urbana Album in 2023 for his work on Bad Bunny's Un Verano Sin Ti.

This song is a track from Tainy's first solo studio album, Data.
  • "Mojabi Ghost" features Bad Bunny's signature flow and vocals. For Tainy's own album, Bunny steered away from the uptempo reggaetón bangers that have catapulted them both to chart-topping success. Instead, he delves into an '80s-inspired dance track accompanied by keyboard progressions that shift and evolve.
  • Notwithstanding its infectious and energetic tempo, "Mojabi Ghost" carries a subtle undercurrent of melancholy. Bad Bunny wears his heart on his sleeve as he sings about his struggle to move on from a past love. Despite indulging in hedonistic pleasures such as smoking, drinking, and threesomes, he confesses that the absence of his true love hinders his ability to find true joy in life.
  • The title comes from Bad Bunny's intro.

Mojave Ghost, y pa' la calle hoy salgo otra ve', ey
Me gustan las do', pa' mi cama nos vamo' los tre'

    Translates as:

Mojabi Ghost, I don't go out to the street again
I like them both, the three of us are going to my bed
  • Mojave Ghost is a woody, floral fragrance for women and men by Byredo. It was launched in 2014 and is inspired by the Mojave Desert. The fragrance is described as having a "soft, airy" scent with notes of ambrette, magnolia, sandalwood, and cedarwood. Some people also say that it has a similar smell to chicozapote, which is a tropical fruit with a sweet, musky scent.

Mojave Ghost is not an overly expensive fragrance. It retails for around $135 for a 50ml bottle, which is on the higher end of the price spectrum, but it is not by any means a luxury fragrance. It's therefore unlikely Bad Bunny is mentioning Mojave Ghost for braggadocios reasons; he simply enjoys the fragrance and wanted to give it a shout-out.
