  • "Rule The World" is featured in the film Stardust during the closing credits. The film's director Matthew Vaughan asked Take That if they would be interested in writing a song for the film. Gary Barlow recalled in The Daily Mail May 4, 2007: "We live near each other in London so I said: 'Come along to our place at 6 and I'll give you our answer.' Matthew came at 6 and in that time we'd composed and written a song. We played it for him and now it's going to be in the film."
  • In its debut week in the UK charts in October 2007, this song achieved the third highest one-week sales of 2007. However, as the highest selling single of the year at that stage - Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" - was released the same week, "Rule The World" was prevented from entering the UK chart at #1.
  • This was the biggest seller of 2007 in the UK not to reach #1 on the singles chart.
  • Take That performed "Rule The World" at the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony while the Olympic Flame was extinguished.
