Songfacts®:

  • This song finds Kevin Parker's voice pitched down to a deep baritone level as he recalls a revisit of an old flame. He explained the track's meaning to Mojo: "It's about a guy who's growing up, and he's moved on. There was this crazy part of his life, completely unhinged and romantic. He was just living his life from day to day, but then he shut the world off. Now he's living this really monotonous existence, and he sees someone he hasn't seen since that time, and it completely time-warps him. He suddenly realizes that he's shut out this part of his life, like a cheap solution to block out the regret of not going in this direction. There was potential in his life, and he f--ked it."
