  • Speaking with Songfacts, Ted Nugent said this was "A dedicated song to the great spirit, God, and how nature has healed me and guided me my whole life." Nugent has always been an avid outdoorsman. Instead of filling his hours in the studio, he spends time in nature, which charges his creative batteries. When he's ready to work on a song, he finds it pours right out of him.

"Those lyrics are accurate in describing not just what nature represents and accomplishes, but what it represents and accomplishes in my hunting lifestyle," he added.
  • The lead vocal is by Derek St. Holmes, who sang most of the tracks on the album. Nugent likes to focus on guitar and was happy to have others take care of the vocals in most cases, although he made sure to sing live favorites like "Cat Scratch Fever" and "Great White Buffalo."
  • In later years, Nugent dedicated this song to his wife, Shemane Deziel, whom he married in 1989. She also shares his love of the outdoors, and they work together on a long-running TV show called Ted Nugent Spirit Of The Wild.
  • Nugent played this song when he toured to promote the album, but didn't put it back in his setlist until 2013. He would often introduce the song by dedicating it to his wife Shemane, a fellow hunter who "likes to kill s--t as much as I do."
