Songfacts®:

  • This song is about singer Ronnie James Dio, who has been in many bands including Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and Dio. He has sung many heavy metal hits such as "Heaven And Hell," "Holy Diver," "The Mob Rules," "The Last In Line," "Rainbow In The Dark" and "Man On The Silver Mountain." This song finds Jack Black telling Dio to stop rocking (because he's too old) and go to a retirement home to teach Black how to become a better rocker. >>>

  • Joni from New York, NyIt's so rude. Dio Is 10000 times better than Black
  • Lester from New York City, NySaw RJD (born Ronald James Padanova) twice in the early '70s with his then group ELF. Wasn't that impressed. I read at the time that ELF's band members could not exceed 5' 4" in height. In the '90s I found a CD version of ELF's first album. Wasn't that impressed. Was certainly impressed by Dio when I first saw him with (what was then) Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (rainbows remained a theme in Dio's future music). Heaven & Hell may be Black Sabbath's best album.
  • Keith from Sioux City, Iathe pick of destiny introduced me to dio ever since i couldnt get enough of dio
