Songfacts®:

  • TGT is a supergroup formed in 2007 that consists of the superstar R&B trio of Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank. The threesome had been friends for over a decade, and Tyrese was best man at Ginuwine's wedding, but the triad of crooners didn't record together until a 2007 remix of Tank's single "Please Don't Go."

Contractual issues derailed momentum as each member of the trio is signed to a different record label, but the difficulties were eventually resolved in 2012 and Atlantic signed TGT.
  • This seductive cut was released as the lead single from their debut album, 3 Kings. It peaked at #13 on Billboard's Adult R&B chart.
  • It was Tank who came up with the "3 Kings" album title. "Tyrese wanted to call it 'TGT: Ignited,' Tank told Billboard magazine.

"That's because what we do ignites bedrooms," added Tyrese. "But seriously, I feel this is the culmination of three great careers. We've put in the work."
