  • Steve From Central Mass from WorcesterGreat instumental track from the guy who I think is the king of instrumental rock songs, Dickey Betts. When you list Blue Sky, Les Brers in A Minor, Elizabeth Reed, Jessica (who I named my first child after), Pegasus, True Gravity, Kind of Bird you have an incredible bunch of music. Can't think of another artist that compares to it. Saw Brothers first time at Summer Jam which is now 50 years ago; saw them many times especially the 1989-2014 run. Saw Dickey solo a few times after kicked out of band. Got his autograph while his bus was parked behind the Green Monster at Fenway where he played the Avalon club. But yeah, High Falls is a good ride.
  • Patrick Smith from NocalBoarding down the backside of Squaw Valley in knee-deep powder. It's a 15 minute song for a 15 minute ride. Absolutely PERFECT! When the pace of the song slows down, hit the wide carving turns; as the pace picks up, carve closer to the fall line. Total ballet down the hill. It just does not get any better. Been boarding to this song for 40 years and it is still my favorite board-riding song!
  • Eben from Haverhill, MaThis song is paramount to transporting me somewhere else when I'm attending a boring meeting etc: I hum the melody lines and it just take me away.....I don't think there is a better song out there period...I love the arrangement, the musicianship is so good not many can reproduce this stuff...I had a hard time throwing out my YES 8-track player that still works because of this song...lol....I know I actually have it on CD, but I was cleaning out my garage and had to give it one more go....All other tapes are gone, but win lose or draw gets another round of playing.....See you on the road!!!
  • Reg from Kemptville, OnIn the late '70s I bought "Win Lose or Draw" for this one song only. I wish I still had the L.P. (lost at university) as I never hear High Falls on the radio.
  • Barry from New York, NyDickey Betts is the king of the Allman Brothers Band instrumental. This one was released in 1975 on the "Win Lose or Draw" LP. A few years later they had another Betts instrumental called "Pegasus" which was almost a carbon copy of "High Falls."
  • Sven from Phoenix, AzOf all the many Allman Bros tunes that followed the script of long instrumental, this one is the best. Better than the live Whippin Post.
