Album: Survival Of The Fittest (1971)

Songfacts®:

  • Running to 9 minutes, the fourth track on the 1971 Survival Of The Fittest album was written by lead guitarist Ted Nugent and recorded live in Detroit the previous year. It features both saxophone and keyboards - Nugent is not a great fan of keyboards.

It is also an unusual song, to put it mildly, certainly for him. In the short 1982 biography by Robert Holland, he says it was "the best song I had written up to that time... in fact I would like to do it again sometime, as soon as we can get the recording rights back. Andy Solomon did most of the vocals, and that's why they sounded so bad." >>>
