  • The Aquabats started out as a novelty band, parodying the third-wave ska movement that was popular at the time. Early live performances contained an elaborate horn section, sometimes reaching 15 people at a time.
  • The Aquabats are known for their mythology; this includes their claim that they are superheroes saving the world from evil, through the power of music. Band members adopt pseudonyms, and include "fighting" an evildoer as part of their stage show.
  • blink-182 drummer Travis Barker (under the pseudonym "The Baron Von Tito") played drums on The Aquabats' album The Fury of The Aquabats. He was also part of the band's touring lineup from 1997-98.
  • The Aquabats have had several lineup changes since they formed in 1994. Lead vocalist The MC Bat Commander (Christian Jacobs) and bassist Crash McLarson (Chad Larson) are the only two original members in the current lineup.
  • Lead vocalist Christian Jacobs is co-creator of children's TV show Yo Gabba Gabba!; he is also one of the show's producers and writers. >>
