Songfacts®:

  • This is the debut single from American alt-rock band The Arcs. The Arcs are a side project of Dan Auerbach, singer and guitarist for the Black Keys. Auerbach says the bluesy track was inspired by Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao boxing match in May 2015 that was billed as the "Fight of the Century." >>>

  • During a 2015 interview with Jam! Music, Auerbach was asked whether he participates in boxing himself. He replied: "My cousin moved to Nashville four years ago and he has been boxing since his early teens and he got me into it. We built a little boxing gym in the garage and we just box everyday and he taught me the basics. And I started getting into it, more and more. And I'm way into it now."
  • Yours, Dreamily sees Auerbach getting in touch with his falsetto side. "I didn't once think about what other people would think of it, I didn't once think of writing anything catchy, I didn't once think about doing anything for radio," he explained to NME. "My voice is laid very bare on these songs and I'm singing in ranges I've never sung in, but it never felt uncomfortable."
