Songfacts®:

  • A reviewer once said of "Stain On The Sun" that it "lets the side down, literally, by dragging on for about 9 minutes. The slower, ballad part at the start is fine, but the lengthy, poodle-haired-rocking, over-wrought guitar solo and pedestrian backing that makes up the remaining 5 minutes is just too much."

The album version of this Nick Saloman composition runs to 8 minutes 40 seconds, but live takes are generally shorter. Although he is no Blackmore or Santana, Saloman is a fine guitarist, so perhaps the one at fault here is the reviewer? >>>
