Songfacts®:

  • This is the title track of British alternative rock duo The Big Pink's second studio album. It is named after the slogan of an '80s skateboarding company.
  • The Big Pink's Milo Cordell explained to Spin magazine: "These were the first two words we wrote down, and this was the first song that we actually wrote from beginning to end for this record. The words just kind of stuck, and I named my blog Future This."
  • The album was produced by Paul Epworth who has also worked with Adele and Florence + the Machine and manned the boards on the Big Pink's hit single "Dominos." Cordell told CMU: "We talked to a bunch of American producers but really didn't want to go through the process of getting to know them while recording. We knew Paul well and trusted him even more."
  • The album features cover art by graffiti artist KR, which is a reference to Cordell's own history as a graff writer during his youth.
