Album: Future This (2012)
Play Video

Songfacts®:

  • The rockiest track on Future This, it's the only one with a guitar solo and live is the last song in Big Pink's sets. Milo Cordell of the duo told Spin magazine that when they play the song at gigs, "it goes on for eight or nine minutes, dropping different breaks into it. It's quite exciting to play live, for sure."
  • Cordell explained the song's meaning to Spin: "It's a song about doing things for yourself. If you're working for other people, it's not going to feel true."
