Songfacts®:

  • "Mamacita" is a Latin slang word referring to an attractive young woman; it roughly translates as "hot momma." During this upbeat bilingual song, Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap singer Ozuna join The Black Eyed Peas to pay tribute to a "Mamacita" who makes them "sweat like wasabi."
  • J.Rey Soul (born Jessica Reynoso) is credited as a featured artist. The Black-Filipina singer first connected with the group when Apl.de.ap selected her to join his team on the Philippines edition of The Voice in 2013. Since then she has contributed to 2018's Masters of the Sun Vol.1 and featured on the Black Eyed Peas 2019 world tour as a female vocalist and "semi-official" group member.
  • The song samples Madonna's "La Isla Bonita." It combines reggaeton and dance music sounds similar to The Peas' previous single, "Ritmo (Bad Boys For Life)."
  • The '60s-themed video directed by Julien Christian Lutz - aka Director X - finds Black Eyed Peas and Ozuna heading to a tropical resort while stylishly outfitted head to toe in Gucci.
