Songfacts®:

  • The Box Story are the brothers Dylan and Noah Chenfeld - Noah is their lead singer/primary songwriter and was just 15 when this song was released. Dylan is the guitarist and was 17. Noah told us about this song: "I wrote the intro and verse a while back, and around a year later (last spring) I was going through some iPhone recordings when I came across what I had wrote. I immediately finished the rest of the song instrumentally and melodically but I still did not have lyrics. The lyrics to this song changed a lot throughout the writing process but I eventually decided I wanted to write kind of a weird story about a kid in the city who was confused about who he was personally and as an individual in the enormous but tiny world, and… who he wanted to be. The lyrics eventually came together and we recorded the song and did a video for it shortly after."
