Songfacts®:

  • The Box Story are vocalist/pianist Noah Chenfeld and his guitarist brother Dylan, aged 15 and 17 at the time this song was released. Noah tells us that they are are committed to writing, recording and performing great songs that aren't limited to a specific genre or niche. Regarding this song, he says: "The rap track. I've been freestyling and writing raps since I was really young, so I think it was only right we did a rap song. I made the beat for it over the summer, and didn't think it would every turn into a real song. My brother Dylan, the other member of The Box Story encouraged me too write some lyrics and finish it and although I was hesitant in the beginning, I eventually listened to him and got to work. I have no idea what funky elegant is, or how it came to be but I guess its there and I'm not gonna fight it. The lyrics are goofy, its just a fun song overall."
