  • When Cadillac Three frontman Jaren Johnston sat down to pen a tune about the girl who stole his heart, the last thing he had in mind was penning a hit song. "I sat down and wrote a real song, kind of on accident, drinking too much wine, trying to talk about my wife. Everybody wants to feel that, have that feeling, where it happens so fast. It's the old saying of love at first sight," he recalled to Rolling Stone Country. "These days, it's so easy to fake it. And kids see through that. This song is very real and from the heart."
  • The girl who stole Johnston's heart, Evyn, later became his wife. He told ET Online the story behind this southern rock love ballad. "I'm a very lucky fella; not many people get to be with a woman like mine," Johnston said. "I fell fast and hard. I remember thinking it was kind of like being struck by lightning. The hair on the back of my neck stood up, and I got the shakes the first time I saw her. When I wrote 'White Lightning,' I sat down and put that experience into this song the best way I could."
  • The music video shows the band performing the song interspersed with separate scenes of the married couple. We see Jaren Johnston and Evyn in their kitchen as the camera pans to photos of the pair on their refrigerator. We also watch Johnston upstairs writing the song as pictures of he and his wife flash on the screen.

The visual is a true depiction of their relationship. "My wife Evyn and I had a blast - basically just told the director how it happened, and we went step by step," Johnston explained. "I damn sure hope it's a hit, but if nothing else, Ev and I will always have that video for our kids, and it will help explain how daddy saw 'white lightning' when he met mama."
