Songfacts®:

  • This is one of two hidden tracks (the other one being "on The Threshold") at the end of British rock band The Charlatans' eleventh studio album, Who We Touch.
  • The song features spoken words by Penny Rimbaud, formerly the drummer for the 13-year-old Tim Burgess's favourite band, Crass. The Charlatans frontman enthused to Mojo magazine: "When I was 13 Crass were everything to me. Me and my school friends went to see them at Winsford's scout hall, the experience changed me. Penny wrote this beautiful poem, he reads it and as he keeps rolling, the band jam, following his rhythm, and I sing backing vocals."
