Songfacts®:

  • This song features the voice of Cate Le Bon. The singer-songwriter has also collaborated with fellow Welsh musicians The Manic Street Preachers, providing lead vocals for their Rewind The Film track, "4 Lonely Roads."
  • The song serves as the title track of The Chemical Brothers eighth album. Asked by HMV.com how they settled on the record's name, Tom Rowlands replied: "I could sit here and rationalize it and say that it's a metaphor for how we make music, but the truth is it's a lyric and it sounds like an album title. I don't really know the reason, I don't know the reason I do all sorts of things, I don't like it when you over-explain things."

"We had it for a while, pretty much as soon as we made the song with Cate," he added. "It sounded right and it ended up sticking."
  • Born In The Echoes was The Chemical Brothers' sixth UK chart-topping album, following the success of Dig Your Own Hole (1997), Surrender (1999), Come With Us (2002), Push The Button (2005) and We Are The Night (2007). This meant they broke the record for most #1s by a dance act, moving ahead of The Prodigy, who have achieved the peak position with five of their long players.
