Songfacts®:

  • Explaining this song, The Dandy Warhols lead singer Courtney Taylor-Taylor says that people can truly be "Godless" and that we do indeed live in a "Godless" world. When we spoke with Taylor-Taylor in 2002, he said: "The more s--tty and cruel things people do in the name of God, the more Godless they clearly are. I was raised going to a church that was like a club for nice people. Religion should be like that or else it should be criminalized. In some countries, and amongst some races, its a club for sickos sadists and perverts. This world is a mess and was better off before people. Weird, huh?"
  • This song was the lead track and second single from The Dandy Warhols' breakout 2000 album Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia. The single for this song also featured alternative versions and mixes done by English trip-hop duo Massive Attack.
