Songfacts®:

  • This brutal track tells the story of an encounter with an extraterrestrial monster. The song is a track from the band's Space EP, which explores different aspects of space and things that exist outside the Earth's province. "We learned a lot from the Zombie EP," said vocalist Mike Hranica. "We wanted each song on the Space EP to have a specificity about it, to have its own identity separate from others, to have its own sound, but still have them all united in concept. We talked about a lot of different themes, but 'space' just felt right."
  • The attacking alien in this song was inspired by Ridley Scott's depiction of the creatures in the 1979 movie Alien. Mike Hranica describes the alien in his song as, "10-feet tall, drenched in saliva. It's attacking, coming through the window, game over." (Here's our full Mike Hranica interview.)
  • The second track on the Space EP, this song runs just 2:30, and is based on a riff guitarist Kyle Sipress put together. Hranica describes it as a "fast, pounding, hard-hitting song." He explained, "When we were putting these songs together, we decided that one of these had to be the gnarly song about an alien attack."
  • The video sees The Devil Wears Prada reuniting with director Casey Pierce, who crafted the group's "Planet A" clip. The visual centers on a young female being abducted by an alien and subjected to a chilling experiment.
