Songfacts®:

  • For their fifth studio album A Joyful Noise, Gossip hired Brian Higgins from the British production team Xenomania to add a pop sheen to the set. His influence is especially evident on this track.

Guitarist Nathan Howdeshell admitted to DIY that he was unfamiliar with Higgins. "Brian was the label's idea," he said. "I hadn't really heard of Xenomania, I wasn't familiar with pop music really. They introduced us and we got along really well with him so I just went with it."

However, once they started working together he became a fan: "I thought he had a really good ear. This is definitely our poppiest album but you have to try everything once!," he said.
