• This song was penned by joint Head and the Heart frontman Josiah Johnson. None of the other band members had heard the track until they happened to walk in on him playing it at the piano during pre-production in El Paso, Texas.
  
  "It was one of those moments where no one talks," the other co-frontman Jonathan Russell recalled. "No one needs the chords; no one is looking up. You simply pick up your instrument and play. The next thing you know, nearly 10 minutes have gone by and you have no idea how or why or what just happened."
• The song ended up being the title track of The Head and The Heart's debut album. Russell explained why it was chosen to Radio.com: "It's the last song on the album and once you go through the whole album it just wraps everything up really nicely," he said. "At the same time it makes you want to start the whole thing over again. He called it "Signs of Light" and it just felt like the perfect statement for the whole album."
