Songfacts®:

  • The lead single from Teeth Dreams finds Craig Finn telling the tale of a guy taking his girlfriend home for the holidays to meet his parents, only to run into his unrefined old hometown pals, leaving his lady somewhat terrified. "I think Teeth Dreams is very much a return to storytelling," Finn told Billboard magazine. "There are characters for sure. I didn't want to name them, because sometimes when you explain too much, there's not enough room for the audience to put themselves into the song."
  • Why teeth dreams? Craig Finn explained to Uncut magazine: "They're anxiety dreams, and a lot of people have them. I was thinking a lot about anxiety, and these anxious times, and whether all times are anxious and that's just the human condition."
