Songfacts®:

  • Frontman Luke Pritchard told The News of the World that this song is really about their former bassist Max Rafferty, who left the band in February 2008 amid rumors that too much partying had taken its toll. Pritchard explained: "I wrote 'Sway' about Max ages ago. I love the guy to death and I miss hanging out with him. But by the end, there were things he did that I won't miss any more. It's sad."
  • Pritchard told IndieLondon that he is particularly fond of this track: "It's one I always go back to... Hugh's guitar solo is genius - I don't even know how he did it, even though I was there. And obviously the words hold a certain thing for me."
