Songfacts®:

  • Most of The Neighbourhood's songs start out as demos in vocalist Jesse Rutherford's bedroom. Then drummer Bryan Sammis and bassist Mikey Margott typically lay down a Hip-Hop drumbeat and bass-line, before guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach come up with some riffs and Rutherford thinks up a melody. Sammis told Coup De Main magazine that for this song, "Jesse wrote on acoustic guitar and brought to us and then we jammed it out on a dinner break in the studio one time, we stuck around and we turned this acoustic song into a full-band song."

He added: "I think it shows because that song's a little bit more organic than some of the other songs."
