Songfacts®:

  • This was The Prodigy's first newly released record for five years. At the time there was much anticipation to see what Liam Howlett and company could come up with half a decade after their commercially successful but controversial "Firestarter" and "Smack My Bitch Up" singles. However this song was panned by the critics and Howlett later admitted it was a mistake. He told Clash magazine: "It wasn't a record I liked at all (laughs). I must have liked it at the time it went out, but I knew it wasn't a sonic reflection of where the band were heading. It was slow, lazy and just down. It wasn't an up record… it was just… (shrugs)."
  • The song is a homage to the controversial date-rape drug Rohypnol. It focuses on singer Keith Flint's personal experiences when he was part of an underground scene that centered around going out and getting wasted on Rohypnol.
  • The song was banned by UK radio stations as it glamorized Rohypnol. Liam Howlett expected the controversy. He told Kerrang: "Of course it was going to create a stink because it was real and truthful and the truth scares people."
