Songfacts®:

  • The Pussycat Dolls returned in 2026 with "Club Song," their first new music since the single "React" in 2020. The group broke up in 2010 and reunited in 2019 with plans for a big tour that were derailed by COVID. It got messy, with lead Doll Nicole Scherzinger and group founder Robin Antin trading lawsuits. They reached a settlement in 2024 and took another crack at a reunion in 2026, with "Club Song" building excitement for a tour with with Mya and Lil' Kim on the bill. This time, the group was pared down to three members: Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt. They were originally six.
  • Befitting the title, the song is set in a club, where the Dolls are letting a dude know that his girlfriend is just fine without him - get out of the way and let her dance!

By this time, the group members were in their 40s, but Pussycat Dolls aren't the kind of group that evolves into more mature music. They were formed as a burlesque dance troupe and stay in that lane because that's what fans expect.
  • Typical of Pussycat Dolls, the song was written by Nicole Scherzinger with a team of experienced writer/producers, in this case Mike Sabath, Caroline Ailin and Sarah "Solly" Solovay. Sabath has done a lot of work with Raye, Shawn Mendes and Jade. Ailin, a Norwegian songwriter, is one of Dua Lipa's main collaborators. Solovay is known for writing with Teddy Swims (Are You Even Real).
