Songfacts®:

  • This was The Saturdays' debut single. Two of the quintet, Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Wiseman, were members of S Club Juniors the early 2000s. Also, Irish singer and guitarist Una Healy, prior to joining the group, recorded a solo album that was released in her homeland.
  • Una Healy told Digital Spy about this song: "It's about a love/hate relationship really. These two people are falling in love but they're scared of getting hurt. The verses are all about one of them stalking the other one, hanging out outside the other's window."
  • This song was built around a sample of Yazoo's 1982 song "Situation." However the sample was tuned down to A, rather than the original's C#. The Bayside Boys remix of Los Del Rio's "Macarena" also sampled "Situation."
  • Una Healy explained to Digital Spy the quintet's name: "We wrote out a list of potential names, almost everything that came into our heads really, and in the end we had about 200 names to choose from. We thought The Saturdays sounded fun and different to the other girl bands out there. We didn't want to have a reference to being a girl in there, like Girls Aloud or Sugababes."
  • Co-writer Ina Wroldsen blogged on her MySpace site: "I wrote this song last summer on a track I got from my Danish friends; Cutfather and his previous partner Joe! They have borrowed the sample from a Yazoo song. Love it!!"
