  • The Script, whose members are from Dublin, describe themselves as an amalgamation of different styles, like U2 meets Timbaland or Teddy Riley remixing Van Morrison. Says singer, Danny O'Donoghue, "Irish people have soul, it comes from generations of pain, and generations of understanding emotion to be able to physically get that in a solid sound."
  • The Script experienced a great deal of heartache in the early years of the band. Guitarist, Mark Sheehan's mother lost a ten month battle with a terminal illness. Sheehan would say, "That was the time when it finally came home to me how important music was to me, cause in my darkest moments that's what got me through." Four months after Sheehan's mother died, singer, Danny O'Donoghue's father died of a heart attack. Danny said about the band's fist single, "We Cry," "There is not a lot of hope in the song, cause not everybody's life is full of hope. There's not always roses at the end." Danny would go on to say, "I came home so that Mark could spend time with his mum, little did I know that I was actually getting to spend that precious time with my dad," reveals Danny. "But then amidst all this travesty and disaster, these songs have risen out of it. That was the time when it finally came home to me how important music was to me, cos in my darkest moments that's what got me through."
  • Drummer, Glen Power began playing as a session musician at the age of 15. When he met Danny and Mark, the dynamic of The Script shifted immediately. When Glen hit it off with Danny and Mark, he put his solo project on hold after the trio hammered out three new songs in a week.
  • The Script can be heard in various video games and TV shows, including 90210, Ghost Whisperer, The Hills, Waterloo Road, The Eastenders and The Vampire Diaries.
  • Prior to forming The Script, Danny and Mark were part of a boy band called Mytown. The quartet included Danny, Mark, Paul Walker and Terry Daly. The group singed to Universal Records of New York in 2001. Mytown was moderately successful in England and Ireland but were lost in the growing pool of boy bands that included famous acts like Take That.
  • The Script marked St. Patrick's Day in 2018 with a sold-out show at Brussels' Forest National during which they bought a drink for every fan present in the 8,000 capacity. In doing so they broke the world record for the biggest ever round.
