Songfacts®:

  • A live favorite for String Cheese Incident, this song was conceived in the late '90s and early '00s when the band was on the road about 300 days a year and had lots of time to think up song ideas on the tour bus. At one point when they were heading home, the phrase "On my way, way back home" got bandied about, which gave them the idea for the lyric, since that's exactly what they were doing.
  • This song started with a groove that keyboard player Kyle Hollingsworth came up with. He recorded it on a four-track tape, then developed it with the band. "That was a song that came together as a whole band," he said in our 2014 interview. "That was one of the songs where it came together and we worked it out."
  • The music for this song was written long before lyrics were added. The song first started appearing in SCI setlists in late 2000, and has developed over time.
