Songfacts®:

  • The lead single from Pretty Cool Scars, this is a song about learning and becoming stronger in the midst of tough times. "It's a song we can all relate to," Colton Swon said. "It's about finally getting to a point where you get over the things you need to get over, and you can move on with your life. I think it can represent people in a lot of different ways, and then it becomes much more than a song at that point."
  • The Swon Brothers started playing the song in 2016 when they were the opening act on the second leg of Carrie Underwood's Storyteller Tour. "We always like to try out songs in our live show before we make the decision to record them. We like to listen to our fans that way, and hands down, our fans gave us every indication that this was definitely a keeper," Zach Swon said. "Me and my brother knew we had something golden when we just sat down and played it for the first time in the living room with just the two of us, and it just felt like it was written for us."
  • Colton Swon takes on lead vocals for the first time on this song.
  • The song's music video was directed by Jeff Johnson. It tells the story of a couple trying to put back together the pieces of their relationship. Set at various locations throughout Nashville, the clip showcases the beginning stages of a couple's relationship before fast-forwarding to the guy attempting to ignore his girl's continued calls. Shots of the couple are interspersed with Music City's famous cityscape, as well as with scenes of Zach and Colton Swon performing the track.

"Our first music video was really playful... and then we had a video that meant a lot to us, called 'Pray For You,' and it was more on the serious side," Zach Swon told The Boot. "For lack of a better term, I think ["Don't Call Me"] is a little more sexier of a video - not because of us by any means! The actors did a great job, and the location is super cool. I would like it even if I wasn't in it!"
