  • Ting Ting Jules De Martino explained to Rhapsody how this song was inspired by a football chant: "There's a chant people do a lot over here in the UK, like more of a football chant than anything else. I know a lot of people make lyrics up in the stands, like [chants] 'You're going home in a London ambulance!' So, we were drunk and we were singing our own words to that with our friends, chanting at each other in a party atmosphere and it struck me that it was such a catchy thing. The very next day, we were rehearsing and it was in my head and that's how 'Fruit Machine,' the melody, came about. Again, I think it's a bit of a bitter pill we're swallowing on that song, being dropped by the label and being taken for a ride and being played like a fruit machine. You have those things? Slot machines? We call those fruit machines. Katie's singing about being taken for a ride, being fed the money, and that's why she does a lot of that "ka-ching, ka-ching" kind of thing."
