Songfacts®:

  • "Lost Girl" was the debut single of The Troggs; on the April 29, 2010 edition of ITV's London Tonight news programme, vocalist Reg Presley visited London's Tin Pan Alley, where he pointed out to the reporter the Regent Sounds Studio at number 4 Denmark Street where the song was recorded.

He said that (as far as he knew) it was played precisely once on the radio, on Radio Luxembourg, at 3 a.m. He added that he stayed up all night to listen to it, and fell asleep at 5 minutes to 3! A song about a girlfriend who walks out, "Lost Girl" was released on the CBS label backed by "The Yella In Me." It flopped. >>>
