Lead guitarist Freddie Cowan told Q magazine it's "about leaving a party, and your head's buzzing – behaving like it's strobe lights." He added that producer Ross Orton steered them towards turning it into "by far the heaviest song we've ever done."

    "It was a good boundary to break," the guitarist concluded, "and we could then apply that mentality to everything else."
