Songfacts®:

  • "C'mon C'mon" was Von Bondies' first widely successful single. While its chart performance wasn't stellar, it's earned a measure of mainstream success by being licensed in other media. Among the places where "C'mon C'mon" has appeared: the FX TV series Rescue Me, and the video games Burnout 3: Takedown on PlayStation 2, Gretzky NHL on PlayStation Portable, the MVP Baseball series, a downloadable track on Rock Band 2, and in an MTV2 video mod for Tribes: Vengeance. A band which becomes famous solely from its video game music could be a sign that the Apocalypse is nigh.
  • The Von Bondies are Jason Stollsteimer on vocals and lead guitar, Christy Hunt on rhythm guitar, Leann Banks on bass, and Don Blum on percussion. They formed in 2000, emerging almost by pangenesis from the garage rock scene. Stollsteimer, a bartender, and Marcie Bolen, a hair dresser, attended a Guitar Wolf concert in Detroit and were inspired to start their own band. Originally that band was The Baby Killers, which went on to tour with The Detroit Cobras, The Go and The White Stripes. The band reformed around a couple of new members and they became Von Bondies. Since a rather famous altercation between Stollsteimer and White Stripes frontman Jack White in 2003, the two groups can be said to be no longer on speaking terms.
