Songfacts®:

  • The Weather Station is a Canadian folk music band fronted by Tamara Lindeman. This is a track from their 2017 self-titled album.
  • "Power" finds Tamara Lindeman considering her struggle to assert herself, something she recognizes in many women in her life. She told Uncut: "I just look at all the ways in which I walk into an interaction with someone and I immediately give away my power. Like I'll say 'Oh I'm sorry to bother you but I was wondering if blah, blah...' And I still do that. But going into the record I was like, 'What would happen if I just acted like everyone else I know?' I could be like, 'We should do this, end of story.'"
