Songfacts®:

  • This lighthearted summery stroll finds Thomas Rhett singing of cracking open a cold beer at the end of a crummy day.

    You can be lonely, heartbroken
Or hungover from the night before
Turn that frown into a smile real quick
    Ain't nothing that a beer can't fix
Rhett's not afraid to drink away his worries
  • Rhett wrote the song with Ryan Tedder, the OneRepublic frontman's frequent collaborator Zach Skelton, and producer Julian Bunetta.
  • The track was inspired by a lousy round of golf with Bunetta. Once they decided to open a cold one, their golf game got better.

"We were going, 'Well maybe it was the beer,' and so we started talking about titles we could write around that and 'Ain't Nothing A Beer Can't Fix' is what we landed on," Rhett recalled to Billboard.
  • Jon Pardi joins in for a second verse and chorus. Rhett said: "I literally called Jon before we even finished the song. I played him the chorus on my phone and I said, 'I need you to sing on this with me, I think it's going to be a big song,' and he put his vocal on it the next week."
  • Jon Pardi told The Boot the uptempo, fun-loving track was a perfect choice for the two singers.

"He sent me two [songs], and we decided to sing 'Beer Can't Fix' because it's an anthem. It's a no-brainer," he explained. "For two male artists to sing together, I think it's perfect. It's about, you know, 'Time to drink a beer!' It's fun."
  • The song's music video, shot on the beaches of Key West, Florida by Shaun Silva, offers a three-minute vacation. We see Rhett and Pardi fishing together, cruising the streets on scooters, rolling in the sand and playing their guitars on a fishing boat. "We wrote this song to be fun and uplifting and wanted to take that same energy into the video," Rhett explained. "Jon and I had a blast filming this a few weeks ago in Key West, and I hope it brings a smile to people's faces."
