Songfacts®:

  • This festive, easy-going song finds Thomas Rhett singing of the simple joys that come with celebrating the holiday in the country. He paints a picture of a picturesque scene that's "miles from a city and the crazy crowds. Where the pine trees grow and the world slows down."
  • Rhett penned the song with Ashley Gorley, David Garcia and Chris Tomlin. Though festive music has always played a large part in Rhett's holiday celebrations, he's never recorded a Christmas song until now. He explained in a press release that his wife Lauren has long wanted him make some Christmas music and "this year felt like the right time to finally take a stab at writing something."
  • Rhett released the track on November 19, 2019, alongside a cover of the classic "The Christmas Song."
