Songfacts®:

  • This is a song by American rapper T.I., from his seventh studio album, No Mercy. The song was produced by and also features rapper Eminem. The duo previously collaborated on the track "Touchdown" from T.I.'s 2007 album T.I. vs. T.I.P..
  • T.I. told MTV News that Eminem came on board this song after encouraging the rapper regarding his prison sentence over weapon charges. "I reached out to Em," Tip explained. "My management reached out to his management, just in hopes of getting him on a record. Em personally reached out to me, and we been speaking ever since, especially since I went through my situation [with having to go to prison]. [He would] just kinda remind me that 'I've been through dark period in my life too. You're gonna make it. You're one of the ones we need, so you're gonna make it. Stand tall and walk the walk.' He just made it a point to always reassure me of the spot that I hold in this thing that we got called hip-hop. It was incredibly helpful. It was incredibly noble of him, in my eyes, to even take the time out to reach out to me."
  • Whilst Eminem's rhymes deal with the fairer sex, T.I. takes a shot at his critics on the song's hook: "I don't really care what you call me, just as long as you don't call me broke/ I bet they knew as soon as they saw me, good night it's over with that's all she wrote."
  • T.I. addresses on the first verse former Grand Hustle member Alfamega, who was a DEA informant. He raps, "Others sworn under oath or vanished left completely scorned/ You tell lies, get cut n---a, kick rocks/ You never did blend in with the big shots."
