Songfacts®:

  • Having written her first song aged 11, played live at the age of 13 and signed a publishing deal at the age of 16, singer-songwriter Rachel 'Tich' Furner became an online sensation in 2012 as she amassed over 2.5 million views on YouTube, in just over 6 months. She caught the ears of JLS, Little Mix, Stooshe and Olly Murs, who all gave Tich support slots on their shows. This is her debut single, which was released in the UK on April 28, 2013.
  • Co-written by Tich with Mushtaq (Amy Winehouse, Mis-Teeq) and Nick Atkinson (Gabrielle Aplin, Rooster), the song is based on a real life experience. Tich explained to Digital Spy: "I broke up with my ex-boyfriend and the second I did it I was like, 'That was the stupidest thing I've ever done', and I guess I turned a negative experience into something which has turned out to be quite good."
  • The song's hook originated when Tich was pacing around her garden admonishing herself. "The next day I went into the studio and said 'whoops, I have been so dumb'," she recalled, "so that went into the chorus!"
