Songfacts®:

  • This funk groover finds Tim McGraw celebrating the southern towns and states. The verses are essentially a travelogue of some of the most important locales as the singer namechecks various places, highlighting exactly what it is that makes each one so great. The chorus is basically the words "way down" repeated over and over.
  • McGraw gets an assist from country singer-songwriter Shy Carter who supplies a rap breakdown. Carter's credits include such big hits as Sugarland's "Stuck Like Glue" and Billy Currington's "It Don't Hurt Like It Used To." He has worked with McGraw previously, writing his duets with Faith Hill, "Speak To A Girl" and " Roll the Dice."
