Songfacts®:

  • The December 23, 2011 issue of London Metro contained a small article Minchin fury over 'pulled' ITV song which reported that "Tim Minchin has criticised ITV 1 bosses after his song comparing Jesus to a 'zombie' was pulled from tonight's Jonathan Ross Show."

There appears to have been some fear that it would upset Christians. Not to mention Jews or anyone with a sense of decency, a sense of taste or a sense of humor. Unfortunately, Minchin uploaded it to YouTube the day before, and by 17.39 hours London time on December 24, 2011, it had been viewed 432,325 times.

By contrast, an e-petition calling on the British Government not to "get involved in any military action against Iran" at the behest of any foreign government had attracted only 268 signatures since October 18. >>
