Songfacts®:

  • During her spectacular comeback in the '80s, Tina Turner used a variety of songwriters and producers to help craft her sound. "Falling Like Rain" was written by David Munday and Sandy Stewart, and was produced by Rupert Hine, who also played most of the instruments on the track and sang backup along with Munday and Stewart. Hine, who also worked on Turner's previous two albums, told us: "She's just truly extraordinary, really. And I'm not one of those people that just talks up all the artists I've worked with. In her case, she's extremely special and I've never ever witnessed such a one-take wonder as Tina Turner."
