Songfacts®:

  • This crunk R&B song finds Tinashe singing of being on the rebound after a breakup and looking for someone to "fill this empty void," in a club. The singer penned the tune with Bebe Rexha, who also co-wrote Eminem and Rihanna's chart-topper "The Monster."
  • The song was produced by the hit-making Stargate duo and their fellow Norwegian, Cashmere Cat. Other collaborations between the trio include Kid Ink's "Body Language" and Charli XCX's "Break The Rules."
  • A remix version featuring Australian rapper Iggy Azalea was released as a digital download in the US on February 24, 2015.
  • The song's music video was filmed at a shipyard in Long Beach, California and directed by Ben Mor (Katy Perry's "Part of Me," Will.i.am's "Scream & Shout.")

The clip finds Tinashe and her team of dancers demonstrating some moves in suspended shipping containers. "I feel like when you put yourself in a borderline dangerous situation, exciting things can happen," said the singer. "That shock value is always what you want to go for in a memorable video. We were over 100 feet in the air with no safety harnesses. Literally, we could have died. It was a thrill to make and I'm so excited for my fans to see this video. We really stepped it up, visually."
  • "All Hands on Deck" is a boatswain's call for a ship's whole crew to assemble on a ship's main deck, where they will receive orders for action. Tinashe is calling here all the guys to come and help her get over her recent breakup.
  • Tinashe told Billboard magazine about the shiny reflective coat that she wore for the song's video.

"I was walking through the things and I was like [starts sashaying and making swishing sounds], 'This is a moment! It was dope! And it was hard to move in, too, because it was made of weird plastic almost to where it was crunchy [starts to make crunching sounds]."
