Songfacts®:

  • Tion Wayne (birth name Dennis Junior Odunwo) is an Edmonton, North London-based MC who made his UK singles chart debut with a guest verse on NSG's "Options." Following further hit colloborations with Russ ("Keisha and Becky") and KSI ("Houdini") he made his Top 10 debut as lead artist with this song.
  • Wayne enlisted Dutchavelli and Stormzy for this drill anthem. The Edmonton rapper kicks off the track with the hook and first verse before Dutchavelli lays down his bars. It's Stormzy's third verse that started trending on social media, with many viewing it as a diss towards his fellow Londoner Chip.

Rumors of some beef between the MCs were fueled by Chip's collaboration with Skepta and Young Adz on the track "Waze." His bars include:

You ain't even done ten years in this ting
Round here we don't hear you're a king, man will take your throne

Some listeners assumed this as Chip calling out Stormzy because the Croydon MC had called himself the king of grime in his Wiley diss track, "Still Disappointed."

When this song was released, many Twitter users viewed Stormzy's verse as a poke back at Chip.

Is he sending for me? I dunno
What them boy there sell first week? I dunno
When they ask for the fee let 'em know that's it 1.5 for the headline show

Responding to the interest garnered by Stormzy's verse on social media, Chip tweeted: "Why am I trending?" Tion Wayne added: "U lot are bored."
  • The jagged production comes from:

Welsh duo The Elements (Steel Banglez's "Fashion Week," AJ Tracey's "Dinner Guest").

AoD, whose credits include three of Stormzy's Heavy Is The Head cuts.
