Songfacts®:

  • The first single from the Christian Hip Hop-Rock-Pop musician TobyMac's fifth album, Eye On It, examines the importance of God in one's life. Toby penned the song from the perspective of the person that he might be without his faith. "I'd be packing my bags when I need to stay," he admits in the song, "I'd be chasing every breeze that blows my way, I'd be building my kingdom just to watch it fade away, it's true…." Toby confessed he'd be in a predicament without God in his life. "I'd be a mess," he said. "I'd be insecure, self indulgent and probably doing all the wrong things."
  • The deluxe edition of Eye On It features two different remixes of the song, with both Capital Kings and Telemitry recording their reinventions.
